What is Silver Halide Printing?

Silver Halide Printing uses light-sensitive silver halide crystals and dye couplers suspended in layers of gelatin. When this paper is exposed to light, it triggers a chemical reaction. This creates a colorful print without the use of a single drop of ink!

Why use Silver Halide Printing?

Due to the nature of the printing process, the prints come out smoother and provide a more continuous tone. Also since the color is imbedded into the paper using a chemical reaction instead of placed on top using ink, the print is more resistant to fading. This also makes them resistant to fading due to light exposure, giving them an archival property!

What is a Limited Run Print?

A limited run print is only available in a limited quantity. These kinds of prints are typically created to a higher quality, include an artist signature or a certificate of authenticity, and are numbered as part of a limited run.
